Vitamin B3
Niacin, also known as Vitamin B3 or nicotinic acid, is essential for converting food into cellular energy. It is uniquely effective at improving lipid profiles and supporting cardiovascular health, while also serving as a precursor to the critical coenzymes NAD and NADP.

Niacin is converted to NAD and NADP, which participate in over 400 enzymatic reactions. At pharmacological doses, niacin inhibits hepatic diacylglycerol acyltransferase-2, reducing triglyceride synthesis and VLDL secretion, which favorably shifts lipoprotein profiles.
Flushing (warmth and redness of the skin) is a common effect of niacin, especially at higher doses. This is harmless and typically diminishes with continued use. Extended-release formulations may reduce flushing.
Speak with a licensed clinician to find out if Niacin is right for your protocol.
